Last November saw Club Menangle, in partnership with Harness Racing NSW, Tabcorp and Allied Express participate in the Racing For Prostate Cancer campaign, raising both funds and awareness for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

Overall, a total of $10,500 was raised from a combination of success on the track and the inaugural event, A Night at the Races with Big Sports Breakfast supporting Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, held in February 2024 at Club Menangle.

Club Menangle Chief Executive Officer Bruce Christison said, "Our Club is immensely proud to have raised awareness and funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. The racing campaign has become an annual fixture on our calendar and the recent A Night at the Races event in partnership with the Big Sports Breakfast team was a huge success in extending the Prostate Cancer awareness message.

"Thank you to all our Harness Racing participants who helped make this campaign possible, especially those who wore the Racing For Prostate Cancer silks in November and the support of our partners Harness Racing NSW, Tabcorp and Allied Express."

Across the eight race meetings held at our track throughout the month, three winners were recorded wearing the Number 4 saddlecloth, with Club Menangle, Harness Racing NSW, and Allied Express each donating for these wins. Tabcorp also donated an additional $5,000 to support the campaign.

PCFA Chief Executive Anne Savage thanked the Club for its strong track record of support. “The funds raised will go directly back to supporting men and families in our community impacted by prostate cancer.

“With over 25,000 Australian men estimated to be diagnosed this year alone, it’s support like Club Menangle’s which help us work toward a future where no man dies of prostate cancer.

“Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, but together as a community, we can keep our pace and increase early detection to improve health outcomes and harness better research to beat the disease once and for all.”

A Night at the Races with the Big Sports Breakfast team was held in February 2023 at Club Menangle. Hosted by Gerard Middleton and featuring guest appearance by Laurie Daley, Josh Reynolds, Brett Kimmorley, Kezi Apps, Jarod Croker, Tommy Berry and Brittany Graham, the event raised funds through ticket donation and raffles.
